Sop when I was a youngster first learning about car this is what the Buick badge looked like.1 I was a real Hood ornament and looked cool. 2 it was Red White and Blue. It was VERY clear what sort of brand image this projected. Legacy, heritage, and Patriotism.

now on  some models Buick had simplified the badge to this.

and My youngster who is just starting to learn about car asked me “why does the buick badge have like 3 shiny claws one it.”

Minimalism can be a good thing. But sometimes color is one thing you cant delete.

I love the freestanding Buick hood ornament. My dad used to have a 6th or 7th generation LeSabre with seating for six. They look nice IMO.

Maybe it should just be all red now, considering the main market for Buick?

Seems like newer Buicks are going back to the coloured trishield badge, such as the Envision.

Interior still has the single colour variant though.

Personally, I have to agree, the coloured in variant just looks so much better and has so much more character. The silver variant just looks bland and generic.

I think the Verano is the only one with the single color badge now.

The full color b adge never went away in China, so they’re just gradually reintroducing it here.

Cadillac’s is even worse, with every revision it becomes less and less recognizable as a heraldic shield and starts to just look more like something some Chinese automaker would have cooked up in the ‘00s in a half-assed attempt to go upscale.
